When you have taken a photo image and wish to assert your copyright to that image, it would be useful to take the following pointers into consideration:

It is preferred to secure an unbroken chain of activities leading up to making an entry to an online repository site such as HashRepos. This is to mitigate the chance of a dispute arising along the chain as to who has copyright to the image.
It is considered a good practice adopted within the photography community.
A scenario may occur when a third party asserts copyright to the said image by having its hash time stamped in an immutable, permissionless ledger first. A dispute may follow and untangling the dispute will incur time and cost.
It is part of good practice, even though copyright accrues to the person taking the said image, that rights of the subject be respected. When the rights to use the image are agreed in writing, it reduces misunderstanding.
Without taking all the prior steps mentioned above, asserting copyright would be time consuming and costly.
In certain jurisdictions, additional protection is granted to a person making a statuary filing/registration.
The longer the interval between these dates, the greater is a chance of missteps to assert copyright to the said image.
The public address is used to identify an owner. Any person able to use the corresponding private key will be able to assert ownership of that address.
Once the private key is revealed, ownership of the address will be compromised. Therefore, the private key must be properly secured and not revealed at all.
In a worst case scenario, the person in possession of the private key claims copyright, remove funds out of the corresponding address. Once again, it will be time consuming and costly to sort out the mess.
It is good record keeping practice as it makes proofing easier i.e. you are in possession of the original image and its hash matches the hash registered with HashRepos.
It should be for ease of cataloguing as well as to facilitate searches in HashRepos e.g. title, watermark, category (kingfisher, fp123, bird).
This provides ease of proof that the hash of the original image corresponds to the hash registered on the HashRepos. The zipped file should be properly catalogued, filed and backed up.
